What is a day like at the Suzuki institute?

The Suzuki institute consists of three core classes: one in which private instruction is given in a masterclass setting, a smaller group class in which technique is focused upon, and a larger group class in which repertoire is explored. In addition, students can choose from other classes such as orchestra, Kodaly, general music, chamber music and jazz. This Suzuki institute also has mandatory practice time so that the students have an opportunity to practice concepts discussed in their classes. Parents are required to attend the classes with all students under age 15. There will be a final concert on Friday night.

What is a day like at PhoenixPhest Grande?

Intended for older and/or more independent students looking for more personal attention and a more intensive experience, PhoenixPhest Grande is chamber music focused. Students will have the opportunity to bond with the others in their group during the week. The day is longer than at the Suzuki institute, involving at least an hour of scheduled individual practice time, private lessons, chamber music coachings and general music classes.
